Who Are We?

The Spinal Cord Society (SCS) is avolunteer organization dedicated to developing a treatment to cure paralysis.200 Chapters and a monthly newsletter link thousands of members across 24countries. All research is funded by private donations.

RecentSCS research involved human trials, which have resulted in partial sensory andmotor function recovery. SCS is working hard to improve on those results. Newand even more effective approaches are now underway with additional human trialsplanned within the next 16 months.

Santa Cruz Chapter SCS Contribution

To date, the Leimbach Santa Cruz Chapterof the SCS has raised over $150,000 - primarily from our annual golf tournamentcharity event, The Pink Flamingo. Our continued mission is to increaseawareness of both the need and opportunity to develop a treatment to cureparalysis. Each new advancement in medical technology brings us closer todeveloping a cure. And with your help and generosity, we'll be able to take yetanother step toward making this vision a reality. We look forward to a fun andmemorable day for everyone involved in this year's Pink Flamingo at Pasatiempo.

Pink Flamingo Tournament Format

Our format is the traditional Scramble (where a foursome plays from the best positioned ball on each shot) is again offered for those who enjoy a casual round of golf with friends for a great cause.
